How does IV Treatment work?
Intravenous (IV) fluid drips deliver saline solution through a small catheter and tubing directly into the bloodstream. This solution usually includes medications and vitamin supplements that are tailored to the individual patient. During therapy, the nurse inserts an IV line which is attached to a bag of saline solution. The bag is then hung above the patient’s head. IV therapy bags are designed to let gravity, as opposed to a syringe or other forced technique, carry fluid into the veins over time. The duration of a single treatment varies from person to person but typically lasts 45 minutes - 1 hour.
What are the benefits of Drip IV Therapy?
Drip IV Therapy is one of the most effective ways to deliver nutrients, vitamins, and fluids to your body, and is more efficient than oral supplements. This technique bypasses your digestive system and is administered directly into your bloodstream. Your body is able to absorb the maximum amount of nutrients and fluids since nothing is lost as a result of the digestive process. In addition, vitamins and nutrients become immediately available to your cells for use for fast results.
Why are vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants important?
Our bodies need a consistent amount of vitamins and minerals to promote homeostasis and optimal health. Vitamin deficiencies can contribute to a variety of acute and long-term conditions. Antioxidants are an essential part of maintaining a healthy immune system, detoxifying your body and removing free radicals that can contribute to cellular damage. What is safe in pregnancy?
Our IVs are filled with vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, vitamin B complex, and zinc, all of which are recommended for pregnant women. In fact, you already get many of these vitamins and minerals through your daily prenatals.  According to the ACOG The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, “Many antiemetic drugs have been shown to be safe to use during pregnancy. But others have conflicting or limited safety information. For example, a drug called ondansetron is highly effective in preventing nausea and vomiting, but studies are not clear about its safety for the fetus. Ondansetron also has been linked to heart-rhythm problems in people taking the drug, especially in those who have certain underlying conditions”.  There are some IV companies who do give this medication IV; however, Drip IV will ask you for a note from your OBGYN to give IV anti-nausea or any vitamins.
What can be used for nausea/vomiting during pregnancy?
If diet and lifestyle changes don’t help, or if you have severe nausea and vomiting of pregnancy, you might need medical treatment. Your ob-gyn or other obstetric care provider will first want to know whether your symptoms are due to nausea and vomiting of pregnancy or another medical cause. If other causes are ruled out, you may be able to take certain medications:
  • Vitamin B6 is a safe, over-the-counter treatment that may be tried first for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy.
  • Doxylamine, a medication found in over-the-counter sleep aids, can be added if vitamin B6 alone does not relieve symptoms.
  • A prescription drug that combines vitamin B6 and doxylamine is available. Both drugs, taken alone or together, have been found to be safe to take during pregnancy and have no harmful effects on the fetus.
Why do we limit the fluid for elderly patients?
All patients regardless of age will need to be screened prior to sending out a nurse.
Do you require a deposit to hold appointments?
Yes, we require a $100 deposit in order to secure an appointment. The remaining balance may be paid in the form of card or cash with the nurse.
Is there an extra charge if we want to run the Drip longer?
